10 Questions to Ask Before Any Spiritual Consultation

You do not need to be an expert to protect yourself. Asking clear questions and listening to how they are answered will tell you most of what you need to know. Use these ten with any practitioner.

1. What will you actually do? A clear answer is a good sign; vague promises are not.
2. What will you not do? A responsible person can name limits.
3. What is the total cost? Ask for it in writing or in a message.
4. When do I pay? Be wary of large advance payments.
5. Can I stop whenever I want? The answer should be yes, without penalty.
6. Do you guarantee a result? An honest answer is no.
7. What information do you need from me, and why? Names and a short description should be enough. You should never need to send photographs, documents or OTPs.
8. Who will see my information? It should be limited to the team and not shared.
9. Should I also see a doctor, counsellor or lawyer? A good practitioner will say yes where relevant.
10. Can I take time and speak with my family first? If you are pressured to decide immediately, walk away.
